We are very excited to announce that we now have a cone beam 3D CAT scan machine on site.  Dr. Waasdorp’s practice is one of a few facilities in the Philadelphia area that is equipped with this advanced technology that enables us to see a 3 dimensional image of your jawbone prior to commencement of surgery, providing the ability to do the most careful and detailed planning and evaluation.  Additionally, we can perform “teeth in a day” and “all-on -four” procedures without the patient needing to travel to a separate facility.

Dr. Waasdorp had some of his students from UPENN shadow him at the office today, watching the most advanced dental implant treatments available.  The patient seen here had a failing bridge, and his remaining teeth were infected.  Dr. Waasdorp extracted the remaining teeth, placed 5 implants, and gave the patient a fixed temporary to wear while the implants heal.  The patient never has to wear a removable prosthesis (denture) with this technique.

After all four implants are placed, a new or existing denture may be used as a temporary set of teeth to be attached. Patients leave the office with teeth in place, ready to smile, laugh, and eat over the 3 to 4 month period of bone-to-implant integration.

Typically, in 3 to 4 months, the implants will be fully secured by the bone. Your temporary teeth are removed and a flattering, final new set are permanently attached.
